ULXs as progenitors of merging double compact objects

Samaresh Mondal

Recently LIGO/Virgo detected a large number of double compact object mergers. It is very difficult to determine from where these sources are originated: isolated binary evolution, dynamical evolution inside dense cluster or chemically homogeneous evolution of field stars and many other scenarios. Therefore, finding the progenitors of double compact mergers can help to point to the origin of these LIGO/Virgo sources.
