The nearest neighbor alignment of galaxy clusters

We analysed a sample of 1056 ACO PF galaxy clusters to investigate the existence of alignment between the nearest neighbouring clusters. The effect was studied by comparing the angle ∆θ between the direction toward nearest neighbouring clusters and the cluster position angle. Current work analysing the direction of the closest neighbouring cluster confirms the existence of an effect for BM type III galaxy clusters.
