3D MHD Simulations of Obliquely Rotating Massive Stars

3D MHD Simulations of Obliquely Rotating Massive Stars

A. ud-Doula

We present preliminary results from the most recent 3D MHD simulations of massive star winds. This is a natural extension of previously studied numerous 2D and limited field-aligned 3D MHD models. Here, we focus on how obliquity of the magnetic field with respect to the rotational axis may affect the overall dynamics of the winds. More in-depth study how obliquity affects stellar spindown time and possible variability in Halpha emission is deferred to future studies.
